Urban streets are shaped by the history, economy and values of a community. They provide mobility to residents, also gathering places for a range of activities. Shared “check-ins” reveal how we are choosing to use streets now. By linking Sina Weibo check-in information to the road network, we learn the character of our streets, and how they vary by neighborhood and over time. In the maps, the width of the roads represents the volume of check-ins on each street. By selecting a particular area, you can see the check-ins in different categories of establishments. By changing the day, you can see that both the check-in volume and check-in locations change over the course of a week.

城市街道形成於其歷史、經濟和社區的發展。街道在提供道路空間的同時，也是餐飲、購物和娛樂活動的集聚場所。人們如何使用城市街道空間？我們利用社交網路資料回答這個問題。結合微博簽到資料與道路資訊，我們獲知街道的特徵，以及街道活動的時間與空間變化。在地圖中，寬度代表街道的簽到數量。你也將看到這些地區不同類型的簽到比例；以及一周之中人們的活動是如何變化的。
